Practical report on digital inventory at the Brass Group published in AUTOHAUS magazine
The industry magazine AUTOHAUS has published a practical report on the digitization of inventory and process flows at the Brass car dealership group (Brass Group). The article shows how the company worked with EXCON to convert its previously paper-based inventory processes to a digital solution, making inventory more transparent and data immediately available. Structured process digitization has reduced errors for the Brass Group, decreased rework, and sustainably improved the efficiency and transparency of workflows at the car dealership.
The article is based on a joint practical interview with the Brass Group. In it, employees of the car dealership group report on how digital inventory has proven itself in everyday work and what advantages it has brought to inventory and stocktaking processes.

Digital inventory in practice
For a long time, inventory was an organizationally complex process. Paper lists, handwritten notes, and downstream Excel evaluations led to a high need for coordination and additional effort in evaluating inventory data.
“Our aim was not to adapt existing processes to a system, but to develop them digitally so that they function reliably in everyday operations.” – Christoph Weber, Head of Disposition at the Aschaffenburg site, Brass Group
With the digital inventory solution ex:stock, inventory processes can be carried out completely digitally. The application helps car dealerships to record inventory in a structured manner, identify discrepancies more quickly, and document inventory results transparently.
Thanks to the user-friendly application, the Brass Group's inventory processes could be digitally supported without fundamentally changing existing workflows.
Greater transparency in the inventory process
Today, digital inventory is an integral part of the Brass Group's operational processes. Inventory data is always available and up to date, and reconciliations are based on a consistent database. At the same time, the amount of rework required in the inventory process has been significantly reduced.
“From our point of view, it is crucial that a digital inventory solution specifically supports the real processes in the car dealership. This is the only way to achieve acceptance and sustainable benefits.” – Sebastian Lammel, Head of Digital Solutions, EXCON Services GmbH
